EXACT HARDWARE. A USEFUL ANSWER.
Will the Noctua NH-D15 G2 fit my case and RAM?
Start with 168mm of cooler height and a 32mm RAM limit for the supplied two-fan setup. Taller memory can require lifting the front fan, increasing the total height. Then confirm your exact case and motherboard.

Two measurements that change the answer.
| RAM / fan arrangement | Required height in this example | Case comparison |
|---|---|---|
| 32mm RAM, supplied two-fan position | 168mm | A 165mm allowance is too short |
| 35mm RAM, front fan lifted 3mm | 171mm | A 170mm allowance is too short |
| Case clearance exactly equals the required height | No spare tolerance | Confirm the exact case and installation |
The 35mm/171mm example comes directly from Noctua. It does not establish every motherboard, fan-clip position or case tolerance. Replacing or removing a fan changes the configuration and performance assumptions; we never do that silently to make a result pass.

Height is one check, not the whole build.
The exact processor’s manufacturer rating, motherboard layout, RAM and mounting package still matter. Use the G2 case list and motherboard list before buying. Our checker keeps that remaining work visible.
What if your case is shorter?
The NH-D12L is 145mm and NH-U12A is 158mm in their supplied configurations. They are shorter candidates to check against your CPU and motherboard, not automatic replacements or temperature guarantees.
The example link fills only the measurements explicitly shown. Your CPU remains unknown until you select it.
