Which of these Noctua coolers can I shortlist for a Ryzen 7 7800X3D?
Four models in our five-cooler collection pass Noctua’s published CPU-level check. The NH-L9a-AM5 is excluded by its manufacturer performance rating. Case, motherboard, RAM and mounting checks still decide the full build.

Why the socket match isn’t enough.
The L9a-AM5 mounts on AM5, but Noctua marks it as unable to sustain this processor’s base clock under continuous load. That is why it is excluded here. A mechanical mounting match alone does not establish CPU suitability.
Choose around the rest of the build.
Start with the case maker’s CPU-cooler clearance. Add memory and fan-position checks, then look up the exact motherboard. The larger heatsink is not automatically the best choice for your case, and the smaller one is not automatically suitable for every CPU.
These manufacturer ratings do not predict a temperature, noise level or overclock result in your build. Noctua’s NSPR number is not a wattage rating.
